At InterEngineering, we connect, inform and empower engineers who identify as LGBT+ and engaging supporters who share our mission. Since our launch in 2014, we have grown to over 700 members with three active regional groups in London, South West and the Midlands. We are leading the way for change across the engineering sector through combatting homophobia, biphobia and transphobia in the workplace, on site and in education.
For 2017, Pride in London, is celebrating #LoveHappensHere – half a century after the legalisation of consensual same-sex relationships here in the UK. Pride in London has always played an important role in celebrating LGBT+ life in all its colourful forms. However, even today we still encounter examples of intolerance and see a world that is becoming increasingly divided. It’s time to unite and be proud! #LoveHappensHere!
In the spirit of this, we would like you to join us for the Pride in London Parade on the 8th July. This year we are marching as one – under InterEngineering alone, to be fully inclusive to all LGBT+ people in the engineering profession. As a community interest group, we do however need a small contribution towards a t-shirt for you to wear on the parade and a tote bag for your belongings, which you can keep as a memento.
We are also collaborating with the #BuildingEquality consortium planning an after-party at the Piccadilly Institute to keep the fun going after the parade. Watch this space!
So sign up and come and join us, be yourself and show London #LoveHappensHere. Please book your place with us here and we will be in touch a few weeks before the parade on our plans for the day. Please note that as we will be ordering tshirts in advance of parade, we will be unable to offer any refunds on this event.
